We spent a delightful but low energy day enjoying our island. It is a small island, with only a couple of roads and a couple of trails, so after walking them three or four times there was not much left to do. Basking in the sun over a rock has limited appeal to me, so I read, listened to an audiobook, started a fire, and yes, got a bit of island fever.
There is a community building with a good number of books, but they are in Finnish and I was not ready to start decoding any of them. There are also horses, sheep, and chickens roaming around, so the whole place has a very pastoral feeling to it.
Crazy Lucas decided to go for a swim in the Baltic Sea and when he came back he told me that it was very cold when he first jumped in, but after a moment his whole skin was frozen numb and he was actually able to swim encased in a protective suit of frozen skin (a bit like a wet neoprene suit).
Later in the evening I helped him start the sauna, but we put a bit too much wood in it and both Géraldine and him lasted only 10 minutes in the extreme heat.
We had a nice dinner of grilled salmon, grilled zucchinis and plain rice.
